15-Minute National Blackout to Protest Waqf Act on April 30


AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi took to Twitter today, urging citizens across India to participate in a symbolic protest against the Waqf Act on the night of April 30, 2025. He called for a coordinated nationwide blackout to express dissent against the existing provisions of the law.

According to the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, people are requested to turn off the lights of their homes and shops from 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM as a peaceful demonstration. The blackout is intended as a unified stand to highlight concerns surrounding the Waqf legislation.

This 15-minute lights-out movement is expected to send a strong message of collective resistance. Supporters believe it is not just a protest but a reminder of the community's rights and a plea for legal reforms.
