Mumbai: Parents have raised concerns about the inconvenient allocation of SSC exam centers and the traffic congestion, which is causing difficulties for students. They have lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister regarding the issue.
The Issue: Inconvenient Exam Centers and Traffic Problems
According to a report published in the Urdu newspaper Inquilab, Kandivali resident Ilyas Ahmed has emailed the Chief Minister's Office regarding the difficulties faced by his daughter and other students due to distant exam centers. He highlighted that his daughter’s exam center is at St. Matthew School in Malvani, Azmi Nagar, which is approximately 2 km from their home. However, due to heavy traffic, it took them more than an hour to reach the center.
Ilyas Ahmed pointed out that as per exam regulations, students must reach the center at least 30 minutes before the exam starts. This compels them to leave home at least two hours in advance. He emphasized that this issue is not limited to his daughter but affects thousands of students and parents.
Demand for a Solution, But No Response from Authorities
After sending an email to the CM’s office, Ilyas Ahmed received a response stating that the complaint had been forwarded to the relevant department. However, when he followed up with another email seeking updates, he did not receive any further response.
Questions Raised on Exam Center Allocation System
Many parents, including Ilyas Ahmed, question why students are assigned distant centers for their board exams when they have been studying at nearby schools for years. After ten years of hard work, when students reach a crucial stage in their academic journey, such inconvenience can significantly impact their performance.
Appeal to the Government
Parents argue that merely formulating policies in air-conditioned offices will not solve such issues; authorities must consider the practical difficulties students face while selecting exam centers. If students lose their energy during travel, how can they be expected to perform well in their exams?
To ensure his daughter reaches the center on time, Ilyas Ahmed has taken a one-month leave from work. He urges the government to address this issue and ensure that students do not face such difficulties in the future.

इलियास अहमद का कहना है कि परीक्षा नियमानुसार छात्रों को आधे घंटे पहले परीक्षा केंद्र पर पहुंचना आवश्यक होता है, जिससे उन्हें समय से दो घंटे पहले घर से निकलना पड़ता है। उन्होंने अपनी शिकायत में लिखा कि यह केवल उनकी बेटी की समस्या नहीं, बल्कि हजारों छात्रों और अभिभावकों के लिए एक गंभीर मुद्दा है।
समाधान की मांग, लेकिन प्रशासन की चुप्पी
इलियास अहमद ने इस समस्या का समाधान निकालने की अपील की थी, लेकिन मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय से केवल इतना जवाब मिला कि उनकी शिकायत संबंधित विभाग को भेज दी गई है। इसके बाद उन्होंने दोबारा ईमेल भेजकर जानकारी मांगी, लेकिन कोई प्रतिक्रिया नहीं मिली।

अभिभावकों का कहना है कि सिर्फ दफ्तरों में बैठकर योजनाएं बनाने से समाधान नहीं होगा, बल्कि जमीनी हकीकत को ध्यान में रखते हुए परीक्षा केंद्रों का चयन किया जाना चाहिए। यदि छात्र यात्रा में ही अपनी ऊर्जा खो देगा, तो वह परीक्षा में अच्छा प्रदर्शन कैसे कर पाएगा?
