AIMIM party’s women wing reached Goregaon where a morcha was carried out over the alleged burqa ban for girl students. The protest was led by AIMIM leader Farooq Shabdi, who demanded clarity and immediate permission for Hijab/Burqa on campus.
After the protest, the college administration of Vivek Vidyalaya & Junior College issued an official written response. In the letter, the principal stated that the institution does not have any restriction on Muslim girls wearing Hijab and that the confusion was caused due to miscommunication.
The college confirmed that the request for Burkha without Niqab has been accepted with immediate effect, clarifying that no fundamental rights were violated. The administration further urged AIMIM representatives to maintain peace, avoid unnecessary issues, and ensure communal harmony around the premises.
