Danish Ali, the incumbent from Amroha, joined the Congress party on March 20. Kunwar Danish Ali took membership of the party in the presence of Congress leader Pawan Kheda in a program organized in Delhi.
Danish Ali, the suspended BSP MP from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh, joined the Congress. The joining of former MP Lal Singh, one of the vocal leaders of Jammu and Kashmir, in Congress just before the elections was also a big success for the party in the state. Jharkhand BJP MLA Jaiprakash Bhai Patel vowed to strengthen INDIA in the Lok Sabha elections by joining Congress.
The phase of defection continues before the Lok Sabha elections 2024. In Bihar, Jan Adhikar Party chief and former MP Pappu Yadav's party has merged with Congress. Along with this, prominent leader of Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhary Lal Singh and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Lok Sabha member Danish Ali joined Congress along with their supporters on Wednesday. This was announced in a press conference in Delhi on Wednesday.
